Aufschwung Ost (Kassel)

 

Aufschwung Ost opened it's doors on February 11, 1994 in the Kulturfabrik Salzman in Kassel, which was a large historical factory, consisting of three separate floors, each 1660 m2, The original founders were Jens Bringman, Valentin Kopetzki, Mathias Lange and  Pierre Blaszcyk (DJ Pierre). In 1996 the name of the club was changed to Stammheim and in 2002 it finally closed it's doors.

Many clubnight hr3 radioshow were broadcasted from here and many large events, like the run-up of the Love Parade, took place at this infamous club.
De club also repeatedly went on tour in Germany (Tresor/Berlin, Ultraschall/München, Dorian Gray/Frankfurt) and they organised events abroard, e.g. London, Sydney and Detroit. Event concepts and decorations were designed by artists like Sanjeev & Jensen and Jim Avignon.

Many internationally known DJs and artists played at Aufschwung Oast (Stammheim), including Paul van Dyk, Dr. Motte, Richie Hawtin, DJ carrot, Jeff Mills, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, DJ Rush, Ricardo Villalobos, Armand van Helden, Marc Spoon, Anthony Rother, WestBam and Sven Väth. Live acts
like Kruder and Dorfmeister, Toktok and the third room visited the club and also house and techno legends like Marshall Jefferson, Blake Baxter, Joey Beltram, Josh Wink, and Cristian Vogel regularly occurred.
