October 10, 1992 - Paul Oakenfold at a Soak party in the Leeds Corn Exchange


British DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold Live at the Corn Exchange in Leeds, recorded in October 1992.

In the early nineties Oakenfold studies the emerging trance music scene and is therefore considered as one of the pioneers of the genre. He combined European dance with Goa Trance that he had discovered in Goa (India) He left the public acquainted with its currently unique sound during a two-hour DJ set for BBC radio Essential Mix in 1994. This broadcast is to this day the most requested radio broadcast of the BBC.

Its heyday as a DJ were at the international rise of trance from 1997 to the turn of the century. He was one of the resident DJ of the famous English club Cream and brought some legendary trance compilations such as Trance Port and Perfecto Presents Another World. In 1998 and 1999, Oakenfold was the first DJ in the top 100 of the English magazine DJ Magazine.
