May 25, 1997 - BBC Essential Mix with live PA from Way Out West at Tribal Gathering, Luton, UK,

Live PA from Way Out West recorded at the Sahara area at the Tribal Gathering '97 event and broadcasted by BBC Radio 1 - Essential Mix on May 25, 1997.

Other artist that showed up in this special Essential Mix Tribal Gathering edition were the Sneaker Pimps, Justin Robertson, DJ Sneak, Kraftwerk, Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold. Livesets from Nick Warren, Fluke, Speedy J and Orbital recorded at this event can also be found on this site. It is not clear if these were broadcasted by BBC radio 1 Essential Mix, but after the Paul Oakenfold set the presenter Annie Nightingale mentiones  that Fluke and Speedy J are upcoming after Way Out West. So it is not unlikely that these were broadcasted by the BBC.

Way Out West are a UK progressive house, trance and progressive breaks group from Bristol, England consisting of producers and DJs Jody Wisternoff and Nick Warren. They came to fame in the 1990s with chart hit "The Gift", and have since released four albums. They have produced and performed together for more than sixteen years. They released their eponymous debut in 1997; the album spawned the singles "Blue" (a reinterpretation of the theme from the film Withnail and I), "Domination", "Ajare", and the UK top 15 hit, "The Gift (which sampled Joanna Law's cover version of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face").
