The eight BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix with David Holmes behind the decks.

The Northern Irish David Holmes, born February 14, 1969, started his career as a DJ at the age of 15 in pubs in Belfast. In the same year as he did this Essential Mix he released tracks like "The Niro" and "A New Dawn (Back To the World)" together with Asley Beedle and Lindsay Edwards under the name "The Disco Evangalists". In the early nineties he also had two clubs in Belfast  "Sugar Sweet en "Shake Yer Brain".
